Μετά τη μεγάλη νίκη του, τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο στη Βενετία, όπου απέσπασε τον Χρυσό Λέοντα, ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος συνεχίζει τη θριαμβευτική διεθνή διαδρομή του με το «Poor Things» το οποίο ετοιμάζεται να σαρώσει και τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες. Η νέα ταινία του Έλληνα σκηνοθέτη αποτελεί ένα από τα φαβορί για τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες, που θα απονεμηθούν στις 7 Ιανουαρίου στο Λος Άντζελες και αποτελούν προάγγελο τον Όσκαρ, διεκδικώντας επτά βραβεία σε πέντε διαφορετικές κατηγορίες μεταξύ των οποίων αυτές του Καλύτερου Σκηνοθέτη, της Καλύτερης Γυναικείας Ερμηνείας, για την Έμμα Στόουν), του Β Ανδρικού Ρόλου για τον Γουίλεμ Νταφόε και τον Μαρκ Ράφαλο, του Καλύτερου Σεναρίου και της Καλύτερης Μουσικής.

Την κούρσα για τις φετινές Χρυσές Σφαίρες οδηγεί η ταινία «Μπάρμπι» της Γκρέτα Γκέργουιγκ, με την Μάργκοτ Ρόμπι και τον Ράιαν Γκόσλινγκ στους πρωταγωνιστικούς ρόλους, που  προηγείται  με εννέα συνολικά υποψηφιότητες.  Ισχυρός, ωστόσο, θα είναι ο ανταγωνισμός με τον πολυσσυζητημένο «Οπενχάϊμερ» του Κρίστοφερ Νόλαν, η οποία συγκεντρώνει οκτώ υποηφιότητες, αλλά και το «Killers of the Flower Moon του Μάρτιν Σκορσέζε που  «Killers of the Flower Moon» που έχει επίσης επτά υποψηφιότητες. Και οι δύο αυτές ταινίες διεκδικεί επτά Χρυσές Σφαίρες. Και οι τρεις παραπάνω ταινίες δίνουν το βροντερό παρών στις μεγάλες κατηγορίες βραβείων (Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Σκηνοθεσίας).

Ιδιαίτερα θετικές εντυπώσεις πάντως φαίνεται πως έχει δημιουργήσει και ο «Μαέστρος» του Μπράντλεϊ Κούπερ ο οποίος είναι υποψήφιος για Χρυσή Σφαίρα Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Σκηνοθεσίας και Α΄Ανδρικού Ρόλου.

Όσον αφορά στα τηλεοπτικά δρώμενα ξεκάθαρη είναι η επικράτηση του «Succesion» του HBO, με εννέα συνολικά υποψηφικότητες ενώ ακολουθεί το δημοφιλές «The Crown» του Netflix
